Ella eating Chocolate

So we decided that Ella's first Christmas would not be complete without eating some chocolate. So here is a video of her munching on her first chocolate. I think she liked it. She sure does not eat her broccoli like that.

We had a quiet Christmas day at home. We had smoked cod for breakfast, and some beet borscht for lunch, and a dinner of roast beef, potatoes and corn. Dinner was not traditional Christmas fare, but we will be having a big turkey dinner tomorrow with the Schultz Clan. Ella unwrapped her own gifts, but was more interested in getting the paper to her mouth than what the gift was she must be lacking fiber in her diet, LOL... not too shocking really, she is only 8 months old.
We are thinking of you all and hope everyone had a great day.

Our Christmas supper with the Ross's last weekend..... just thought I'd share some of the sights.... Can't you almost smell that turkey? mmmmmm.... it was gooood.... and Laurel with a LARGE bottle of wine... we've been trying to get her to stop drinking so much, but to no avail thus far... and yes, that is Neil with an apron on. He's stirring the gravy.... had to take a picture of that sight!

Merry Christmas!!!
Your grandkids are very cute... Brooklyn looks as though she's about to lose it though... too funny. I know Nona was hoping that Ella would have a Santa-freak out moment (she thinks its funny.... which it kind of is...) but Ella did not cooperate, and stayed calm and focussed during her Santa experience...hhaha

We're thinking of you! What are your plans for Christmas??

Hi all,

Sounds like you have as little snow as what we have...but Christmas is coming! Tyler emailed this picture that I thought should be posted. (You may have seen it on face book ?? but now it is here for all) Really enjoy seeing all the pictures.... We are getting into the grove down here and are keeping very busy..the way we like it!

Keep safe and have a very Merry Christmas!!

Hi! hope everyone had a good week and weekend!! Nona, love the pics, thanks! She's getting so big!!
I've finished the first week of my course, and just have one more left... leaving to drive back to Edmonton in an hour or so... yay. (not)
The course is really good, though, so at least there's that...
The above pics are from my main floor window, facing west.. you can usually see the outline of the mountains, but the setting sun is overwhelming the skyline a bit there... and the 2nd pic is me chilling on the couch with Dom and Seph!!

Happy week eveyone!

Ella's first Christmas

Hi Everyone,

I am posting 3 pictures of Ella.

She went to see Santa...she asked for Mom and Dad to win the lottery...LOL. and she got a Frosty the Snowman suit, so I have posted a couple of pics for you all to enjoy. We put her in the Jolly Jumper lots, she loves it and in there she stays out of trouble. She has a fascination with the curtains and with any and all cords, electrical, computer, shoe laces, yarn, so subsequently she has had her little hands spanked more than a couple of times. She also moves really fast when she wants to get something. She doesn't really crawl, she kinda moves like a worm, and pulls herself with her hands and pushes with her feet, whatever she sure can move when she wants to.

We hope everyone is doing well, and we miss you all.

Hi!
Hope everyone had a good weekend :)
I took Friday off of work, and Neil and I celebrated a friend's birthday by going out to a fancy restaurant... we had a great time.
We got out (real) tree this weekend and decorated it... it's a monster this year!! I'll take pics and post next weekend!
Other than that, we had a pretty low key weekend,, the calm before the Christmas storm..

I'm off to Edmonton for the next 2 weeks on a course, ... i'm excited about the course... but not about being in Edmonton for 2 weeks... at least its close enough that I'm home for the weekend! It's a pretty demanding course, so I probably won't have a lot of down time...

Well, that's my week... how was yours??
:)
Cheers!
Tara

Hey all!
I have a little project I've got going on... trying to make a master list with everyone's birthdate's... I will share this list of mine, but I need some help first..

Can I get everyone's birthday, and the kids as well... I've gotten some off of Facebook, but there are lots who aren't on Facebook, or don't list their birthdays.

I don't need the year, just month and day please!!!

Thanks!!!

no pictures, just comments

Really enjoyed the pictures- would really like copies of halloween costumers for my album! Also noticed Tate missing teeth right away. And Aidan will have to give a mini concert next time we see him. Ashton wants drums so they`ll be ordering extra insulation I bet. And is Ella ever growing- changed a lot since t/g.
Couldn`t get butter ripple schnappes- they had butter scotch schnappes for $6 so I got that and some Brady`s I think its called- doubles for baileys so we are going to do some experimenting. Not today though- its black Friday shopping time and need a clear head. Had our thanksgiving dinner- the park donates a 20 lb turkey per table- we had 4 no shows so that leaves 8 to divy up the leftovers- so we are having a leftover supper and horse racing night on Sat. here, and with Grey Cup Sunday might be an opportunity to move some more turkey!
Barry is checking out printers- our black ink printer head dried up and we can`t get it clean so hoping to get a new one tomorrow. I`m going to check out the Beyond the Rack site.....its in the high 70`s here so keep warm up there. We miss you all Love Linda & Barry
This is going to be a bit of a random blog....
the above pic is me night time mountian bike riding (again)... I found my low tempterature that I can function at that night... about -12 or so... my tootsies were pretty darn cold by the end of it!

We have had a herd (flock) of prairie chickens hanging out just on the other side of our yard gate for the past week.... they've been pretty darned amusing!!

Neil is leaving today to go to Palm Springs for the weekend... he has a good friend down there that has a house... they  are golfing and going to see an NFL game in San Diego... he will be back on Monday.

I am going to the Spruce Meadows craft show on Saturday morning... should be fun... never been... want to join, Laurel??

I have discovered the website "Beyond the Rack" very dangerous... stinking good deals, but you end up buying stuff!!! hahaha... I found my favourite shoes (Earthies) on there yesterday for half price... and apparently that meant I could buy 2 pair!! go figure... but seriously good deals for any of you bargain hunters...
I am also very much enjoying the new Michael Buble Christmas CD... I would recommend it!

Have a great day!
Cheers,
Tara

What's New with the Ross'

Well, I know we haven't been on here in a very long time. I couldn't figure out how to post, but now I'm back in business.

Aidan is learning chanter (the part of a bagpipe where you play the melody) and this is a picture of him in his uniform. He had to sell poppies so that's why he was dressed up. Tate has recently lost three teeth and two more are loose. He is in a swim club and quite enjoying it. He attacks the water with a vengeance and is quite competitive.

I am going into my fourth week of practicum as a rehabilitation therapy assistant and will be done in two weeks. I've applied for a couple of positions but haven't heard anything yet.

Aaron is still working hard designing trusses and recently completed a run in Banff with Tara.

Made it to Yuma

Got here Nov. 14 early PM. We are slowly getting organized and getting things running. Did a little shopping last nite. A gallon of Egg nog for under $7.00 (a gallon of milk on special for $1.57). Linda is wondering where to find the gallon of butterbripple schnapps and a gallon of baileys to go with.
A few more shots on the way! Hope all is well with everyone.....Barry & Linda

Linda and Barry!! Loved the photos from our Christmas/Thanksgiving weekend... you have some great shots :))
Thank you again for all you hospitality.... You make us all feel so welcome, and the food and company was absolutely sublime! It's all flavoured with alot of love, which makes everything so much more special!

Getting cooler here in Calgary, but still some decent weather. I went mountain biking this past week, and took some photos of a night time ride I did in Fish Creek park with a friend.... the days are short, so we sometimes have to get the headlamps out and go play in the dark!!!

When are you heading down south... any dates yet??

Take Care!

Linda & Barry want to express our gratitude to all of our guests for all the special memories!!

Rolly Polly.

I don't think our child will crawl. She has found another more efficient mode of transportation.
Gone are the days of leaving her while you go into the other room. Now we will have to start using the duck tape... who knew that this would be our best parenting tool.

Another new cat!!!

Well it is fall time again, and we seem to have gotten ourselves another new cat...this one we are definitely keeping. It gets along well with our other 3 cats too.
Ella has posed for some other pictures too. I have attached a few for your viewing pleasure. She is getting really big, and is now rolling over faster than we can keep up with her...thankfully she only goes one way...so far.

guess what? she likes chocolate.
