My garden is only a year old, but it's doing pretty well... we have no grass, that's a astro-turf putting green in our yard, then perennial plantings all around it... and that's Dom, checking my plants out to see if they are good to eat or not!! haha

It's been a very nice week here! I've commuted to work on my bike all week... which I'm enjoying while it lasts, because I am soon going to be working a LOT further from home!
Friday is a day off, as it's Canada day... I have a sprint Triathlon in Turner Valley on Friday morning, then when I'm done my race, Aidan and Tate are in the Kids of Steel (kids triathlon) ... we had them in it last year, and it was a HOOT!! I can't wait.... we will take lots of pics and post!
We (Laurel, Aaron and the boys) are having a Canada day bbq afterwards at our place!

I have a 5 day weekend this week, so I'm hoping to get in lots of mountain biking, and hope to get out hiking at some point! Neil and I are going to see a play, Wicked, on Tuesday...

Well, that's all I got for now!
Let me know what you're all doing for the long weekend!!

Nona, I love the pic of Ella... she looks very perturbed about the sock situation!!

So, Collin called me this week to see if I had fallen off the face of the planet because I hadn't posted anything when I came back from New York... sorry about that folks!!! I'm alive, I just had a crazier THAN USUAL! week this week.... I applied for a new position within the CPS, and I just finished my interview. I will find out later today if I was successful or not!

New York was a blast :) we didn't do anything too planned out, we were just there for the weekend... we mostly wandered around, looked at famous sights, ate very good meals at fun restaurants, drank in lots of pubs and generally had a great time!

The photos are Steph and I in the limo from the airport, the front of MoMA, Neil and I in Times Square, Ground Zero, and us in Central Park...

Neil and I BOTH had races this weekend.... I had a half Ironman on Saturday, and Neil had a duathlon on Sunday... Neil's first duathalon!! he did well.... I, however, had a terrible race... I ended up getting pulled out of the race by the officials about 5 km's from the finish line... I wasn't even running anymore, I was just limping along.... not sure what happened, but my right ankle is hugely swollen now... sigh....

Well, I'm taking a trip to Banff today with a friend (she forgot her cell phone there, we are retrieving it) and we may take a side trip to the spa while there... just cuz!!

Have a great week,, I will post more pics and let everyone know if I got my new CPS job or not later!!

leaving husband and child unsupervised.

Hi All,

This is what occurs when I leave Collin and Ella alone while I relax in the bath tub...

Other than having to rescue my daughter from a pile of clean socks, all is good here. Garden is planted and most of the stuff is coming up already, grass is cut...well mostly, the berm is still up, it kinda still looks crappy, but what can you do...mosquitos are terrible.

Ella likes to be outside at the farm in her stroller, covered by mosquito netting.

Collin starts a new job with the City of Portage on Tuesday. He will be a grounds keeper until he can find a power ranger (power engineer) job. He wrote his 5th class test on June 1st, but has not got his results yet...and with the lovely postal strike he may not get it for awhile. Hopefully he can call and get the result.

Ella got her Daddy an infra red spy camera (game camera) for Father's day. He posted it in the cat shelter at the farm to see what is eating all of the cat food so quickly. We can also use it to try and capture pictures of the wildlife at the farm...lots of interesting tracks and piles of poop on the grounds. If we get some interesting pictures we will post them for your viewing entertainment.

Happy Father's day to all of the Daddy's out there, and to those who are gone...we are thinking about them and celebrating them always...

Happy birthday Neil- the number is getting up there if you are counting candles. And it takes a lot of wind to extinguish them- enough to give you a case of hemmorrhoids!!
Have a question for you Tara- from the picture evidence, would you be giving a ticket to this kid for following too close? I was ready to strangle him until I saw he had 18 inches of brake skids and he had been hit from behind too. Actually felt sorry for him as his car will likely be written off. We are driving ours- the bumper sprang back out but he hit our trailer hitch underneath so we need that replaced which will be done at the end of the month.
The first picture is of my Mom and Ashton at Ashton`s dance recital. At 87 figured my Mom better get out to see her perform.
We are in Edmonton tonight - leaving on a bus tour for Alaska tomorrow- back June 24. By then we can start planning the canoe trip!
Have a great month everyone.

Janet, that's great that your mom and dad get a weekend at home... long overdue!! Will that happen most weekends, or just once in a while?

Lots going on here, as usual.... the first pic is of Neil putting together our new gas bbq... We've had the gas hookup for 3 years now, just finally getting around to doing something with it! It works great...

The next two pics are just some flowers in my yard... spring is very, very slow around here... we have not gotten alot of heat.

The last picture is from last weekend... my first ever road bike race with my new team... I am on the right and with a couple of other teammates. It was a 87 km race... I did not bad for my first time out... came in 10 in a field of 13... I was happy with that!

It was Neil's birthday on Friday... he is 36 now! Where has the time gone?? The lucky birthday boy got Crave Cupcakes, a rangfinder (for golfing) and an ipod nano for his birthday. We went golfing with friends that evening!

Not a lot else going on... Neil is trying to get the hottub fixed (which seems to consist of emptying and refilling the tub) and I have some girlfriends coming over for a shindig tonight!

Have a great week every one!!
