Our own little Prairie Chickens.... we get such a kick out of this flock that runs around the green space behind our house... they come and eat the birdseed that gets kicked out of our birdfeeder.... Neil took this picture early morning after a skiff of snow... it's the only time you can really see them, they blend into the grass so well!
The flock is a bit smaller than this now, the coyotes are hard on them!

Neil had a busy week.... he was in Palm Springs last weekend, having a golf weekend with some friends... he got quite a few games in, but wishes his scores were a little lower... haha... don't we all! He got home, and was really sick for about a day... he ate a bad burrito just before leaving, and had a nice little case of food poisoning... He'd barely recovered from that, and had to go to Kicking Horse (that's a ski hill in BC) for a ski trip that his company was putting on,, so he had to buck up and go, despite not feeling %100... He was feeling well enough to ski though, and enjoyed it.

I haven't been doing much except bach-ing it... I haven't even been heading out to the mountains... I've been on call/ with work vehicle and everything at home for the last 3 weeks, so I've been sticking close to home. That is finally winding down, thankfully, so I'm planning on skiing on Monday :) looking forward to it!

Have a wonderful weekend!
love

Commencing my lifetime project...

I bought a scanner today... specifically to scan and archive ALL of mom and dad's old pictures, and eventually... mine. It works really well... the nice thing is, it will scan either negatives or photos, and will automatically remove dust and colour correct!! I'm pretty happy .... here's an example :)

The first picture of Dad is a scan from a negative, and the second picture is a scan from a photo....

Skiing in Banff

I'm pretty sure we are all getting big snow dumps right now... really the first big dump of the year for us!! We didn't get massive amounts in Calgary... maybe 5 to 8 cm's in the south part of the city, not bad.
I drove (on crappy roads) out to Banff yesterday to go skiing.... and they were getting massive amounts of snow. Yesterday, Banff got 27 cm's of snow... which is why I had to go skiing!! You can see that it's snowing pretty good.
The second picture down I have my downhill skis and ski boots on, but you can't even see them for the snow!! A few times as I was skiing in the trees, I got into it so deep that it stopped me dead, and I had to dig my skis out to get going again!! It was alot of fun, and it was alot of work!! hahaha...

Neil and I are taking SCUBA classes right now... we've completed our first 2 of 5 classes.... we're planning a trip to the Bahamas in June with friends that are avid SCUBA divers, so we thought that this would be a great time to learn!! Something we've always wanted to do.... ! It's going well so far, having lots of fun with it :)

I think that's it for now!! It was my New Year's resolution to write more on the blog, and I haven't been doing so well so far.... SO.... gonna start trying harder!! hahahaha!

Snow, snow, and more snow. 10 cm in the last couple of hours and apparently 2 more feet to come. Old Man winter has a few surprises up his sleeve for us yet...however I am guessing that this probably counts as March coming in like a Lion...so hopefully the end of March will be mild and kind to us. brrrr.... and Collin was just saying that he has not had to push snow at the farm yet...spoke too soon. plugged in the tractor during the visit today, and likely will be out there on Sunday clearing the driveway.

hope everyone is well.

Love you all, hugs and kisses from Ella,Collin and Nona
