Aidan got accepted into Willow Park School. It is an art-centred school for grades 5 - 9. It wasn't a guarantee that he would get in and they even came and talked to his current teacher. He is very excited. At first he wasn't sure if he could do the drama and dance but he talked to a grade 9 boy from Willow Park and he said he was very shy when he started there too, and they don't make you do things alone. I think it will be a good place for Aidan to gain confidence doing things in front of people.
Here is an excerpt from their brochure:Currently, students in Grades 5 and 6 take classes in visual arts, music/band, drama, and dance. Grades 7 - 9 students are offered a variety of options which reflect student interest and the skills of our staff. The following list provides examples of courses offered to these students: Foods, Fashion, Literary Arts, Musical Theatre, Band, Art, Dance, Drama, Film Studies, Leadership, Garage Band, Radio, Design, Robotics, Communication Technology, Pottery, French and Yearbook. Students in Grades 5 and 6 will be provided French as a Second Language.
Now that Aidan is accepted, then Tate is also guaranteed a spot if he wants to go there - which he has already told us he does. At the orientation night, Tate was up on stage and Aidan was saying "Please don't let him embarrass me." Like night and day those two are.
